Jan Beutener is laconic about recognition and abstraction. One imagines his gaze getting caught on a packaging box. He frames it photographically, transforming it into a serious composition with diagonals. We see broken strips of plastic, a snippet of clothing (?) snagged under the lid, pubic hair-l...ike clumps of grass. Funny. The mild, summer colour palette with some grey reassures us curious viewers. Yet something is going on here. But what? This Pandora’s box remains tightly shut.
