Michael Raedecker

Untitled, 1994

Once a fashion designer, as a painter Michael Raedecker takes a literally contrarian approach. He slows down his rapid painting by embroidering the canvas with needle and thread. In this way a representation can still be discerned in this seemingly empty painting. Depicted here is a luxurious interi ... or with an open staircase. The sofa is covered with transparent plastic. Upon closer inspection, one notices that all the drawing lines are embroidery stitches that together create relief. Text: Chris Reinewald From: Museum MORE: 100 jaar realisme, 2020, Gorssel
